Vondervotteimittis is a small hamlet locate near Holland and is known for its carpenters for carving only cabbages or clocks. In 1845, the normally dull and peaceful town was disrupted by a mysterious stranger who caused the village clock to strike thirteen, precipitating an uproarious sequence of events during which furniture became ambulatory while pets and livestock ran amok in the streets.
