Terner

Terner
is the lead singer of the rock and roll band The Purple Orchestra. Oliver Haddo planned to transfer his spirit into Terner's body at the Hyde Park concert in 1969, but failed. Throughout the entire concert, Terner's "ode" to Basil Thomas alienated the audience and causing them to boo him off stage.

Source materialEdit

Terner is based on the character Turner from the 1970 film Performance. Turner was a reclusive, eccentric, former rock star who claimed to have "lost his deamon."  Presumably the events in the League happen before the events in the film.  Turner was played by Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones. In the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Universe, Terner, Basil Forthington Thomas and The Purple Orchestra represent Mick Jagger, Brian Jones and The Rolling Stones respectively. In The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century Vol. 2 1969: Paint it Black, there are numerous parallels to The Rolling Stones history, and their music.
