Merlin is a legendary figure best known as the wizard featured in the Arthurian legend.

Born as Ambrosius Merlinus during the Roman occupation of Britain, Merlin was charismatic at his youth and was irresistibly persuasive, and was allegedly to be the son of the Devil. At the age of 13, he met and seduced Orlando. Since then, Orlando accompanied Merlin as his companion. By 449 CE, Merlin oversaw the young Arturus, the son of Uther Pendragon, to becoming King of Britain. The magician became the king's trusted counselor during the Arthurian period before disappearing during the kingdom's fateful decline sometime in 470 CE.
