Johannes Faust is a 16th century German scholar and sorcerer who made a deal with the Devil's representative, Mephistopheles. In the 1530s, Orlando was an apprentice to Faust. Soon afterwards, Faust was approached by a precocious thirteen-year-old nobleman Prospero, seeking for occult instruction. However, Faust's term with the Devil ends, resulting in him being carried to Hell.
