Die Schlaffkommandos (or 'Sleep Commandos') were a force of mesmerized German soldiers who operated in the Berlin Metropolis during the Second World War, under the control of the deranged Dr. Helmut Caligari. They were developed after the death of Caligari's original somnambulist.[1]

The Sleeping Commandos are the spiritual successors to Caligari's somnambulist servant Cesare, who first appeared in the iconic silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
The insignia of the Sleeping Soldiers is a cross between the SS symbol of the Waffen SS and the “Zzzz” font often used in comics to indicate sleep.
