The Avondale Phalanstery (or the United Avondale Phalanstery) was a model town established north of Victoria and near Warwick in 1899. The town, while founded on idealist and communal grounds for the improvement of humanity, was notorious for euthanising all children born deformed or crippled in the province.

In 1900, Avondale was put under government investigation through their agents Mina Murray and Allan Quatermain. By late 1907 the model town's practices were halted by new imposed laws; however, there was evidence that Avondale and other similar phalansteries continued culling handicapped infants until 1912.

Avondale is from Grant Allen’s The Child of the Phalanstery (1899).
